They should be grateful the city only wants $50 out of them for being so stupid as to be on there that night! Where I live you have to cough up $1500 if you call an ambulance.

Sorry, if his wife's condition is preventing him from devoting the necessary amount of time and energy to be mayor of Chicago he should resign now or should have already once it started to affect him greatly.

I sympathize with his family and feel bad for his wife, but your reasoning is not an excuse.

Dude, the garages in my friends alley (on the mostly white northwest side) have 5-8 feet of snow blocking all of them.

I hate how places in texas are getting a couple inches of snow and they haven't gone to work for 3 days already.
Yet we got 20 inches and we went back to work a day after.

Most of those people don't own shovels and when they do, they aren't for snow. That is part of the problem. Also, most of the towns there don't have much or any salt for the roads.

Plus, a lot of Texas that doesn't see temperatures far below freezing , or even freezing have been getting temps in teens .. They don't build, insulate or have the infrastructure for that ..Amarillo and Brownsville have very different climates, so when San Antonio, Austin, Corpus start getting stuff we take for granted, they take a hit .. And Dallas doesn't do Winter well even when they should , so ..

I don't think most of the towns in Texas have many (if any) snowplows either.

I'm another Northsider with snow blocking my street and alley. If we're getting favoritism I'd hate to see where isn't

They don't unless they're in the panhandle where they actually get snow and ice .. In Dallas, they have plows, but not many , and they use sand instead of salt .. and sometimes they'll only treat intersections..Plus, a lot of elevated roadway .. South of there, forgetaboutit .. snow is a rare and scary thing ..
They've been forced into rolling brownouts for the entire state because of the electrical demand and infrastructure .. It truly sucks to be there this week ( many coworkers of mine are in TX) ..
Comparing them to us is Mars and Venus ...
