Then get a gun.
You think everyone in Chicago is gunless?

I am happy to see that I was wrong.

The buzz is off in Chicago now...seems like all the Ohio transplants everyone in Illinoise complains about are staying put or moving to Washington DC or Austin. Not hearing much about Chicago as a major destination for grads. I have the opportunity to relocate from Chicago by April 1 to either New York, Philadelphia or Cleveland so I'm thinking of doing it since the Illinois business and financial situation in general and Chicago in particular is not a good omen for the near future.

Wusses.

I don't mind. They have helped whitewash the city. It is time to take Chicago back!

Actually, Chicago, at least the northside is way overloaded with Iowans, Wisconsin, downstate IL and Michigan...I can't figure out what a true Chicago personality is other than the superfans on SNL or that obnoxious couple in Best in Show or Roseanne's stuck-up neighbor or Jim Belushi's uberChicago personality in About Last Night...oh wait, I think I'm on to something here...

So? They still are not a majority on the North Side.

We also have such areas as the Northwest side, West Side, South Side, Southwest side and Downtown, none of which are dominated by transplants.

Other than downtown, there's no reason to go to the northwest, south, or west sides of town...I've been everywhere in the city and metro area but don't see myself venturing into those areas for any particular reason...southside parade (cancelled) was ok but other than that, no need to go down there if you don't live there..

Spoken like a true non-Chicagoan.

Since you mentioned that Ohioans whitewashed the city I figured all those other states I mentioned would have done the same thing to Chicago...
