Great news. Now, maybe some decent people can move back to the city.

With any luck, we can get concealed or open carry in Chicago.

Decent people have lived in the city for a while. The gun ban being in effect or not changes nothing. Tomorrow will come, and there will still be people that make a decision to make a crime based upon their crappy circumstances.

Reward will outweigh risk.

Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta all have some form of concealed or open carry, and the crime rates in each of those cities are higher than Chicago's. I don't think gun laws have any effect on anything. They don't seem to reduce crime, but conversely gun rights also don't seem to reduce crime.

?

Are you trying to imply that non-gun owners are indecent people? Or that more gun owners are decent people than non-gun owners are decent people? Or are you defining "decent people" as "people who are too scared to live in Chicago without thier guns"? What does that have to do with decency or indecency? Would you care to explain how your mind went from point A to point B?

It saved both my grandfather's life and mine years ago. Just recently an 80 year old man saved his life from a home invader using an illegal handgun in Chicago.

Last I heard Chicago was the murder capitol of the U.S.

Gun rights serve to increase the chances that a person who exercises the right will survive an encounter with violent criminals. Defenseless, unarmed people, rarely win against violent, armed criminals.

Okay i agree that carrying a weapon will save most people from being robbed, however it wont save you all the time and that doesnt mean violent crime will go down. Carrying a gun doesnt mean you can't get hit by a stray bullet.

A gun is not magical and won't always save a person, but it increases the chances of surviving an encounter.

Being absolutely defenseless, on the other hand, means a person will almost always lose an encounter with thugs.

Okay, but I still don't understand what any of this has to do with:
