Hello! My girlfriend and I are both young black females looking to rent a place for the summer (about 3 months) in Chicago and we're looking for some place that is *safe* and *affordable*. Our budget is about $1000 a month, give or take. Additionally, it would be great to be near the public transit system, as we won't have a car.

You can start by using a word that isn't auto-censored so we know what you're talking about. Additionally, 3-month rentals other than corporate suites or mini-suite hotels are hard to come by, so you might be better off reversing your approach: compile a list of 3-month rentals and then evaluate the neighborhoods they're in.
