Bro.
Ultimately my rental budget is 5k a month but i thought i could get two places. For example one a fair amount away from the city to escape and one in the city. I really wasn't aware that 5k a month to rent is going ''el cheapo''. Also i dont want to spend like an absurd amount to rent somewhere last year i made close to 200k im young i dont need to have a baller apartment i just want something that is nice and comfortable and that is safe i see no need to spend a lot of money on something that i dont get that much satisfaction from i also will be looking to buy if i enjoy Chicago enough. I don't see why your so quick to imply people are bull****ers and even if i was why would you care that much, why would i come on a forum where no one has any idea about poker or would be impressed in the slightest of my success i at least would imagine the only reason i mentioned it was to see if anyone could offer some advise on what i should expect to pay in security deposits as the instability that my career would seem to a letter.

Any place downtown is a good for an 18 year old. El stations are everywhere.. Just go wherever else you need to go.

I'm sure someone else on here can tell you a specific area, especially if you tell us any interests you have. But that's the way I see it. I'm in my twenties and I live a far out suburb. Living in the Loop is living in the Loop as far as I'm concerned.

Why are you still commenting unless you are going to give us more specific info to help you?

Being 18 and thinking you can experience everything living downtown is not logical.

You have to be 21 to get into bars and clubs.

So in other words, it really does not matter where you live downtown.

Other than online gambling, you have mentioned nothing that would help us give you better advice.

Not to condone this type of stuff... but plenty of underage people get into bars in Chicago. And if you really make 200k a year and can spend a little bit of that around, you'll meet the right people in no time.

In terms of younger neighborhoods I'd look at Lincoln Park around the DePaul campus. There are lots of college aged kids there and you'd probably fit in.
