I believe Chicago has some true gems when it comes to architecture for some of its public schools. Which are some of your favorites?

For me they are Lane Tech, Senn, and Schurz. When you see them they just give off such a big prescense because of their scale, design and campus.

You already named mine. Lake View is ok too, but not on the same level as the others.

a while back when I used to work at O'Hare, I was on the Pulaski bus heading towards Irving Park and it got diverted at Belmont. it won't down some side street and at one point I saw a really gorgeous school building (thinking more about it now, I think it was a complex of buildings). no clue what school this was or even if it is a public school, but it was located somewhere north of Belmont, south of Irving Park, west of Pulaski and somewhere among the "K" streets.

I don't think that school has particularly unique architecture.

It is more likely she is talking about Schurz or Scammon Grade School.

Gotta go with Lane Tech, although that ball field behind whatever school you see on the Howard-bound Red Line between North and Fullerton is very nice.

That is DePaul University. Doesn't count.

Haha yeah that' definitely DePaul University.

I think Northside also has an interesting architecture. Never liked Whitney Young or Clemente's architecture. Payton's is nothing spectacular, but is has a pretty awesome location.

Modern high school buildings generally suck.

I googled the Schruz school and that was it! that school is massive! very unique looking though, almost like something you'd see on the West Coast
