I'm wondering if anyone has a preferred East-West road for someone coming from the area north of Devon (near Clark) and going to the northern endpoint of the Lakeshore Trail.

I tried this ride out on my bike yesterday, and all of the needed North-South roads were fine. But Granville is a mess of potholes, especially for Eastbound cyclists. Unfortunately, it's the only E-W road listed on the Chicago bike map between my home and the trail. I know Devon isn't listed as a bike route, but it seems like it has to be in better condition than Granville was, so I'm thinking of trying it instead next time.

There are many E-W roads between you and the start of the trail. Just because they're not highlighted on the bike map doesn't mean you're not allowed to ride on them.

I would try posting this question to The Chainlink forum. I rarely ride E-W up there. Sorry I can't be of more help.
