Hello,

I will be travelling to Chicago tomorrow and will be there through Sunday. I'd like to get some suggestions as to where the best clubs are. I like top 100 and house music. Also, what are MUST places to go eat to? I've been to Giordianos Pizza and will be going back for more! I will be staying at the downtown Hilton if that helps any. I appreciate and look forward to all responses.

I will disagree on Lou's being better, but I think I'm in the minority there

Soundbar is solid, personally I like Underground.

There are a ton of clubs though and it sort of depends on what type of scene you are looking for and if you are going by yourself or with friends.

Interesting. I only said Sound Bar because I know they book very good dj's, internationally famous names much of the time.

Anyway, my friends are more into the sports bar/local tavern types of places, but personally I wouldnt mind going to a club once in a while. I'm being long winded, but I wanted to ask you what clubs you think are better if you are out by yourself without a group of friends? That would be my situation.

Thanks for your input!

Places like the more "exclusive" River North nightclubs tend to be a little less friendly. There are a lot of trashy people in there that are stuck up because they think knowing the bouncer makes them cool. And I'm not hating on these places, I go fairly often, but being realistic about it.

If you want to go somewhere just to dance to top 100 mixes and a little bit of techno, try places like Lasalle Power, Proof, Hunt Club etc. The crowds there aren't nearly as elitist and you can probably have fun there on your own or make some friends.

Thanks.

Rednofive used to be great. I guess there's a new club in that space on Halsted now, forget the name, but I heard some pretty bad things.

I haven't been there, and I'll admit I don't make west of the river very often, which is not something I'm proud of haha. I have been to Evil Olive a few times and had a decent time. Not quite my scene though.

You're talking about The Mid. I haven't been, or heard anything bad (or good) about the place, but I like the talent they've been booking.

Also SmartBar for house music, but not always. Check the calendar.

Thanks guys. Is the River North area the best area to be in for nightlife? I'd like to meet some good looking Chicagoan ladies.
