Hello all,

I live in Berwyn and have been offered a job in Chicago Heights. It's an excellent opportunity but I am concerned about the travel time.

My workday would be 7am to 4pm

MapQuest sends me out bound on 294- So I think I would have to leave my house at 5:45am??

When I interviewed I jogged a bit West and took LaGrange Road as it was late morning and I knew traffic would be heavy on the expressways

I went to the second interview taking straight south on Harlem Ave (I live near Harlem and Ogden)

Does anyone have any idea what my commute will be given my work hours? Is it best to stick to LaGrange Road or Harlem?

Help!! I need to accept or decline by the end of the day!

You need to move. I live in Oak Lawn (111th and Cicero), and it takes me at least 40 minutes to get to Berwyn during rush hour. It will be a minimum of an 1 1/2 hours to Chicago Heights from Berwyn, perhaps 2 hours. Harlem or LaGrange Road will be stop and go, mostly stop, all the way down. Also LaGrange Road and the Tri-State are way out of the way. The Tri-State doesn't even go to Chicago Heights, you would probably need to exit at Halsted and take that down. Another option would be to go the the Ryan, and take that to the Bishop Ford down to Lincoln Highway. Fortunately, there is no reverse commute to the south suburbs, but just getting over to the Ryan will take you at least half an hour. From there, you can probably get to Chicago Heights in about 45 minutes. There are no good options, but this may be the least bad.
