Literally a heaven for those into weekly biker boy parties, polish blondes, and some amigo sausage afterwards!

I prefer a long night at Four Shadows and then a cornedbeef from Mr. Sub myself.

A little O/T here, but have you been to the one on Marcy Street since the Sam's buyout? I was disappointed to see Sam's disappear but in the end it makes no difference to me as long as the Binny's that replaced it has the same volume of selection, and if they do, it may be worth fighting the traffic down in that North/Clybour custerfluck. Otherwise I'm better off hitting up the one on Clark myself.

Yeah, I go there from time to time. They just finished a major renovation and have the same if not more volume than when they were Sam's. I go to the Clark one instead because it's the only Binny's I've found that still carries Strongbow in cans (I know a lot of people hate Strongbow, but I love it, in cans!)

LOL - are you under the impression the City only hires the sharpest knives in the drawer? It's official the way the "Blue Bags program really works!" line was official.

Take a look at the "neighborhood map" the City uses, and check out who contributed "expertise" to it and the date- our realtor association had it made during the height of the teardown/housing frenzy.

It's a decent enough map, but there's an easy test - just go knock on a few doors and ask people there from a broad spectrum of ages what neighborhood they live in.

The problem with using DePaul as a leading indicator is the neighborhood didn't develop around it - DePaul is a fine school, but it's no Northwestern. I was living at Diversey & Damen in the mid/late 90s, DePaul students weren't buying all of those $300K condos, 20 and 30-something working people were.

the city also spelled "belmont' as "bemont" on its CTA maps for a while, lol

That is how it was first created in the 1970's by the city before it was tweaked a bit.

tweaked a bit? hahaha - I'll bet you it hardly resembles the realtor-dominated "neighborhood" demarcation industry today.

you got a link to that map, by any chacne? I'd love to see it...

I was hoping someone had saved that PDF to their hard drive; the city of chicago website no longer lists it. Would a Chicago public library have it for the purpose of scanning?
