Small White Plane Over North Side (Chicago: real estate, floor, airport)

Just curious, has anyone else noticed a small white plane flying over the north side all day accompanied by an incessant droning noise. This appears to be the type of plane that flies out of a regional airport.

It appears to be making a continuous loop all day. I can't be the only one noticing this.

I keep seeing all the helicopters as well from my office on the 26th floor of our ivory tower in the loop. There's multiple ones, and many times they're flying in opposite directions. It looks like they're drunk.

No white plane - I think you're just trying to trick us. LOTS of fog up north of Fullerton right now though. Been coming in and going out all day.

Demand from services such as Bing Maps, Google Maps, NAVTEQ, Zillow, and the like mean that urban areas have aerial photos flown every year by several different companies. This was something that used to be done once every five years, if that, for the regional planning agency.

Peer79, I know what you are saying. I too have seen, and see, on a daily basis, the same.

Again, again, and again. Day after day after day. Fying a pattern, typically North-South, and then again South-North. Unchallenged at an elevation about 5000 feet or way below, and apparently sanctioned by the powers that be.

Here today, August 30 2012, and for all the days previous for the last few months.

I do not have an answer other than perhaps these are arial photographers or cartographers working to snap pictures for real estate interests, or perhaps something more sinister.

My suspicion, despite what deniers had to say in response to your post, dismissing you with references as to meth and black helicopters, and paranoia, is that this does not bode well for any of us.

The of-late, "great" Mayor Daley closed Meigs Field in his special way, during the dark of night right after September 11, 2001, as dictator of Chicago, on the contrived premise that GA air traffic over the Great City of Chicago, and in and out of Meigs, presented a "great danger" to us, the inhabitants of the greater Chicago area.

If we look, we might see. And, thinking critically, might then understand.

The plane is probably releasing chemicals into the air to poison us slowly.

A drone is being tested. Soon many will be in the sky making sure everyone is conforming.

Some dude got stoned in his plane, and is cruising around trying to remember where the airport is.

Just Google "Flight lessons, Chicago". Almost every place in the area talks about how you can fly over Wrigley or any part of the city you'd like. A repetitive pattern would make a lot of sense for someone learning navigation and flight controls. Small planes are also restricted to lower altitudes so they don't interfere with traffic from O'Hare at higher altitudes.
