Eight hurt when city worker

There's something odd about a city truck picking up trash in a congested neighborhood being able to plow into a group of people at high speed. I'm guessing we'll be lucky to even see the driver being fired.

Seriously??? Unless the city worker had a medical emergency and passed out - he's toast.

I'm amazed Rahm has issued a statement yet. Here are some questions I have.

Caretaker called 'an angel' for saving toddler - chicagotribune.com

1. Despite the numerous and severe injuries he caused, he was only charged with misdemeanors. Who pressured the CPD not to charge him with felonies?

2. Why did his supervisor allow him to drive drunk?

3. Why did his supervisor allow him to have a bottle of alcohol in a city truck?

4. Will he be fired? Does the city have a cozy desk job lined up for him once he pays his fine and is back on the streets?

5. If he is fired, will he still be collecting his pension?

Then there is this story:

Chicago Official Resigns After Alleged DUI In City Car - DUI in the News - The Chicago DUI Law Blog

So, Rahm, why are city workers allowed to drink and drive?
