Hi, has anyone on here ever lived around Weisman Park on Oakdale Ave in Lakeview? I know about the noise from the train, but other than that, is it a good place for a young couple with young kids? (safety, shops handy, etc.) Google street view didn't really show me much...

And the odds of this are probably nil- but does anyone have any info on the apartments at 830 Oakdale Ave in particular?

I appreciate your help!

It's a wonderful area. I once lived just a few blocks away. You can walk to the new Trader Joe's on Diversey just west of Clark in minutes. So many restaurants, shops, and stores up and down N. Broadway, N. Clark, and Diversey.

As far as safety, you just need to have normal city street smarts. I certainly would consider it a low crime neighborhood (as far as they go in Chicago), however, crime does happen everywhere in this city to some extent.

I can't speak to the particular apartments about which you inquired.

Safer and nice area for sure. Have you been there to hear the train noise? That address is a block away from the tracks and just south of the Wellington stop. I wouldn't imagine train noise would be an issue inside any unit in that building.
