Just make sure that if you take them past Oak Street Beach where the bike path gets narrow to try and stay to the side. The bikers can sometimes get a little angry if you're going slow and in their way. Just a helpful hint

Those things are kind of slow and cumbersome. I'd rather rent a traditional bike like a hybrid or a road bike or a tandem for a family. However the lake front path is really congested with a bad mix of oblivious beach goers, skaters, road cyclists going 20+ mph, kids swerving all over the place, more recreational less skilled cyclists. I'd try to go off hours and not midday on a weekend/holiday.

Oh to Hell with them. The path is for moseying and strolling along and enjoying the day; it's in a park. People who want to speed should take their bikes out to the boonies.

Indeed. Now that's it's warm I cycle on the path most days myself. But I take it easy and do the bicycle equivalent of taking a walk. And I always take it easy around people walking.

Afterall, what's the hurry, I'm in the park, right? If I'm in a hurry why would I be in a park?
