I don't know if I should ask this but what's your average monthly electricity bill for your apartment or studio in Chicago?

About $45/mo in winter; this July when the A/C was running pretty much nonstop it hit $100. Luckily I live on the first floor so I can get through most of an average summer with fans and open windows, so summer it's usually $55-$60/mo. However, I have a pretty large 2-bedroom. Your bill may be lower in a studio or 1-bedroom -- or it may not be if you're on a 3rd or 4th floor.

My higest this summer was in July - $120. That was from running a 5200 BTU and 12000 BTU unit from roughly 4PM to 6AM every day.

My 1 bedroom with no direct sunlight is around $35 in the winter, and $60 in the summer. The past few have been higher since I got a flat screen TV though, I know those eat up a bunch of juice.

When I lived on the first floor without much sunlight my electric bill would top out at 60-70ish, now on a 2nd floor with lots of sun it got up to 120ish in the summer. I couldnt believe how much hotter it got. Im hoping for a cheap winter for gas tho

I live in a smallish 3BR, and the total bill is around $30 each month for the summer. I haven't lived here in the winter yet. I'm not sure what we're doing that it's so cheap, but I'll take it.
