It's cool to hate on Downtown here. And as someone who goes out in River North a lot I'll fully admit that it's not for everyone thats for sure.

I don't really like going out to bars downtown, but this statement is definitely not true. There are tons of nightclubs and bars all over River North. Many are kind of scattered, but the biggest concentration is along Hubbard Street from State Street to Lasalle Street. There are also a lot of trendy nightclubs in the area south of Chicago Ave and west of Lasalle Street.

Yep, it may not be one's "scene" but there are lots of good options in the area and growing all the time. How about Pop's for Champagne for these two?

Oh yeah if you're two chicks then I would say River North or Wicker Park. River North down Hubbard is more expensive but very downtowny feeling..Sex in the City style. Lakeview is for beer specials. Wicker Park if you have bird tattoos on your shoulders ; )

Yeah you guys are right I forgot about River North, totally! Pops and the Wit are cool.

I was writing from a guy's perspective...if I have a friend coming in and we are going to go out drinking, it's not usually where we hit up.

There are a few trendy nightclubs in those areas. I wouldn't say a lot. I wouldn't consider Ontourage, Spy Bar or Religion "trendy" night clubs!

Stone Lotus, UG, Manor, Cuvee, Sub 51, Board Room etc etc etc. I guess some of those might not be trendy depending on how you define that. But there are a butt-load of decent clubs if thats your scene.
