I'm logical enough to not descend to the argumentum ad hominem.
I just question that if Lollapalooza was a concert of all the music that you like and your favorite bands, if you would really have a problem with it. So you literally use the park 365 days of the year that you can't just give it up for 3 days?

In the summer I use Grant Park almost every day. And because of Lollapalloza the Summer Dance in Grant Park has been cancelled for the weekend. That's dancing with live bands and it's free. My wife and I walk up to that often and do a little Cha-Cha, Foxtrot, East Coast Swing and Tango.

Try it, you might enjoy it.

I am sure you will live without it for one weekend.

No thanks. I prefer to dance salsa, merenge and bachata. Also like dancing to hip-hop music, regaton and brazilian beats. Cha-Cha, Foxtrot, East Coast Swing and Tango is not really my thing. Thanks for letting me know.

Even some of the burbs have block parties. You could always spend the day somewhere else...

I just don't understand what they expect.

You are in a city, especially a very urban dense city like Chicago, it's part of the package. People should never come to the city expecting to have peace and quiet. If you want that you need to go to the burbs, which is why a lot of people do so.

If you're lucky some day you'll be an old man. And if the rest of us are unlucky.
