You're actually debating on whether to move to Jersey vs. anywhere else? OK.

Jersey City is nice actually... Right across the water from Lower Manhattan, would be similar to moving to Brooklyn, and depending on the place, more expensive also.

Here is the location he is referring to.

Jersey City would not be like moving to Brooklyn. It would be like moving to Jersey City--a place with pockets of niceness surrounded by pretty bad crime. And if you're willing to pay what the nice parts of Jersey City cost, you'd be well-advised to just...move to Brooklyn.

. . . says the dude from Indiana's imitation of north Jersey. Someone wedged in between Gary and Hammond doesn't have much room from which to take pot shots.

Hey, we're not as big a joke in the media as that state is right now, so I'm straight.

Certainly Brooklyn has crime. But Jersey City is 21 square miles, while Brooklyn is 96 square miles. If you live in Park Slope, you'd be hard pressed to wander into a really bad area. Jersey City, on the other hand...

"Brooklyn has crime" some of the worst neighborhoods in the whole NYC metro area are in Brooklyn. A lot of Jersey City is bad, but I would rather walk through the worst areas in Jersey City than drive through the worst areas in Brooklyn. Also, the good areas of Brooklyn are way more than JC.

The "joke is about a very very small part of the New Jersey population. The only reason why your area isn't a joke is because it is generally irrelevant.

You are right it is very nice down there. That picture must be a little bit old because there is a lot more new buildings down there now.
