More times than not, I'll be traveling with my boyfriend, but I'm sure they'll be times where I'll go out alone or with other female friends.

Is it a bad idea to be on the Red line or at 11pm? I know I probably look stupid for asking this, but I have to ask because if somebody asked me if it was okay for them to be on a Detroit bus at 11pm, I'd say "Hell NO." Lol

Anyway, I won't have a car for a long time, so I need to know if I should just take a cab late at night, be on the L, or simply stay my ass home!

I've only used the north half of the Red Line (Howard to Jackson), however, I would feel safe using that at any time before 2:00am, which is the latest I've ever been on it.

Honestly, every time I've rode it home late at night it was completely fine. The *one* time anything sketchy happened, it was at like 8:00pm around Belmont. Go figure.

I am a guy, in case that changes your perception of my post. But knowing you're a girl, my recommendation still stands.

Oh...in that case your (future) experience might be different than mine. I would wait on others' advice to either confirm or deny.

I've been on the Red Line until about 1 a.m. This is an urban environment which calls for awareness and carefulness different than in other areas. Many stops on the red line on the south side are well-lighted and well-traveled late at night on the weekends. They are relatively safe.

Incidentally, the bootleg movie man is at the 87th street stop on the red line.

Lol well I'll never need to go down that far. Most likely, I'll never have to go past 79th street at all.

You haven't lived until you are watching a DVD and someone stands up and walks across the picture.
