What is your favorite movie that was filmed in the Chicago area? There are lots of good ones to choose from. My favorite would have to be the John Hughes movie called "Only the Lonely" starring John Candy and Jim Belushi. My second favorite would probably have to be a movie called "Nothing in Common" starring Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason. So what is your favorite? You have lots of good ones to choose from

I'll go with The Fugitive. It's one of those movies that I end up getting sucked into every time that I stumble across it on TV.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Blues Brothers and The Dark Knight are all up there, too.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is the only correct answer. It actually showcases the city where as a lot of other movies are just in the city.

You think that's a better picture than Call Northside 777 or North by Northwest? (Though NBNW was shot only partially in Chicago the stuff shot here looks great.)

I think the best picture set in Chicago is The Public Enemy. It has establishing shots of the Loop, the Union Stockyards and Bridgeport but was shot on the Warners lot and in Los Angeles. Like the scene where Cagney picks up Harlow on "Kedzie" with a Bank of America across the street.
