What are my options now that a employer (where I had worked pt.time for almost 3 yrs) has protested my unemployment claim and alleged theft as a reason.Their allegations are very trivial and completely false and fabricated. What should I be aware as I definately going to appeal and challenge!

Be aware that your appeal will probably be over the phone, so call the hearing officer ahead of time to submit documents in your favor. You may consider getting a lawyer.

If you lose before the hearing officer and the board of review, the next stop is an administrative hearing. In the latter the standard for overturning a decision is somewhat high and the evidence does not get another review. The question is if the prior decision was clearly based on the evidence in the record.

I do these appeals all the time and you ought to consider getting a lawyer. Just because your previous employer objects to your unemployment claim does not mean that the employer prevails. "Misconduct" is a legal term which may mean different things than you think.

If they're falsely accusing you of theft and it's materially impacting you, you could also sue for libel.
