Forget Phelps and his Kansas church. Nobody likes them or pays any attention to them. They're the lunatic fringe, even by fundamentalist Christian standards.

There isn't any opinion so outrageous that someone, somewhere, won't adopt it. It takes all kinds to make a world -- and these people prove it.

I just roll my eyes that it even has to happen in the first place. I mean I'm in the restaurant doing exactly what everyone else is doing, eating. I'm having a good time, I'm wearing the same clothes they are, I'm not being loud, I'm not being rude, I'm paying my bill. It's so strange people waste their time having a problem with something that has no impact on their life, or the lives of anyone else except the person in question.

I mean yeah, this is who I am, I was born this way. It is what it is. Some people get so upset, as if I'm gay because I want to personally p*ss them off. I don't even know what they're pissed off about. It's not like I'm screaming in a movie theatre, having sex on their front yard or trying to eat their children. I see being gay as being left handed or having red hair. Who cares? They should waste their time being upset about people who are being a destruction to our society, physically, emotionally and socially. People are gunning down kids, beating their wives and stealing from old people, yet my love life seems to be such a huge issue to some. Certainly not as much in Chicago, or most places really. You see people like Phelps from that Kansas church though and it just scares the crap out of you. Or even Bachmann with her crazy anti-gay mission. What's the point, Michelle??

Anyway, totally getting off topic, haha.

It's finally socially unacceptable to be anti-gay/homophobic in cities like NY, Chicago, and LA (and others I'm sure). The only respectable prejudice left is to be anti-smoker, but I digress.

Just doing some random Saturday reading ... given the date I'm sure you have already signed the lease. That area isn't any worse than any other chicagocentric areas northbound ie: boystown, wrigley , buena . Parking , while tight , isn't unheard of . I will say this though, many feel it is less desirable then say halsted or broadway simply because it's further north then the local walking spots of interest, if you decided to take it , it will be a good starter place , just remember most people in Chicago move often once they determine what areas they like to spend their time .

better late then never... hope this helped
