Did you have to retake your DL driving and written exam??

The website says "a vision screening, a written exam, and possibly a driven exam"..

WTF does possibly mean? Either you do or don't? Not sure I follow.

Curious what others experiences have been.

When I relocated from Ohio, I took the vision screening and written exam only.

I could be wrong, but I believe if you are moving from outside IL, you are only required to take the driving test if you are under 18, have never been a licensed driver, hold a foreign driver license, or cannot provide evidence of your out-of-state license. Thus I would assume that as long as you provide your FL DL the driving test should be waived.

Also, according to this unofficial website, those over 75 and those with accidents on their record are also required to take the driving test. Illinois New License Application Info at DMV.org: The Unofficial DMV Guide

OK, Great. Thanks guys. Not that I wouldn't pass, but just more stress I didn't need when moving.

Side note, I think thats a great law. Florida needs to do the same.

I've been wondering about this forever, and it's pretty impossible to find a good source for this online for some reason. The Illinois DMV needs to learn how to use the internet. How much does it cost to get an Illinois license? Is it just the basic renewal fee, or is there some sort of special price for holders of an out-of-state license? I'm a student, and I don't have a car, so I haven't been in much of a hurry to get an Illinois license. But mine expires in about six months, so I'll probably get an Illinois license then.

just written and vision for me...my company moved here from out of state and so a whole bunch of us needed licenses, no one took the driving test, just written and vision. You do need to make sure to check the list of stuff you need to bring, they are strict about that.
