Yep. I'd put the likelihood of another 80 degree temperature after this stretch ends (likely today) at 10-20%. The latest Chicago has ever hit 80 appears to be November 1st, but after we get through the round of cooler weather that will follow Wednesday night's frontal passage, we'll be getting into the time of year (Oct 15- Nov 1), where a somewhat exceptional event is needed for 80 degrees, rather than a standard warm-up.

I don't think statistics alone are enough for prediction. The relative dryness of the autumn air masses that can can swept up here from the SW vs the relative moisture of Candadian continental or Artic air masses are what guys like Tommy SKilling go by...

Cold rain is the only kind of weather I dislike. I'm one of the few who love and prefer 4 seasons, but cold rain makes me mad depressed.
