I am trying to get down to grand park early, around 6:30ish am. However purple line doesn't run that early -- so i thought I would drive to red line and take the red (since driving to chicago is unimaginable). Where would be a good place to park along the red line (anywhere with a paid parking?)

Howard has a parking garage. Or if there are any night owl buses that run near you in Evanston, you could take a bus to Howard.

There is a night owl bus from Evanston to Howard, though it's probably easier to park and ride.

park & ride sounds not bad -- and there is a garage. Plus it's going to be super early in the morning, so hopefully there shouldn't be too many random ppl around (heard a lot about howard's reputation).

If you live in Evanston, you may be able to bike down to Howard.

Or, there is a big parking garage at Howard, but I'm not sure who it's open to, and what it's regulations (price, # of hours allowed) are.
