..according to ESPN, it seems like a done deal...

Epstein was usually referred to around here as "The Boy Wonder", and he was known to don a gorilla suit to escape media types, or overzealous fans..

While he certainly helped to bring 2 championships to Boston, a few of his high-priced signings have not worked out...at all. The feeling here is mixed...

I wonder if/what kind of disguise he used to board a plane to Chicago??

Yeah AP is calling it a pretty much done deal as well. A nice longer piece from USA Today: Report: Theo Epstein, Cubs agree to 5-year, $20 million deal

I don't understand the mixed feelings in Boston. Every big market team is going to have some flops in free agency. Epstein helped them win two world series and put a system in place that drafted and developed minor leaguers. Cubs fans should be ecstatic.

It's a pretty encouraging sign. Getting a squad of healthy and productive starting pitchers is what he's going to need to turn the club around in 2012.

If you get a moment, wander over to "Boston.com", or for some humor, check out the subsection "Boston Dirt Dogs"; the atmosphere around the team is very toxic right now.....
