Hey everybody,

I was doing research about the observatory decks of both the sears tower and the hancock tower.

Neither of these seem to have an outdoor counterpart. Can anybody confirm this and if there is NO outdoor counterpart, does anybody where I can go that i can get an open air outdoor view of the skyline.

I find this is much better for taking pictures instead of against the glass windows.

Any help will help. Thanks

The Hancock does have a screened in porch like area that is technically outside or at least exposed to the elements.

but i assume that a screen pattern wouldnt fair so well with the camera lens.

Are there any other options for a good skyline view?

What do you mean "skyline view"? Because obviously if you're in the middle of the skyline, *in* one of the dominant buildings of the skyline, the photos you take won't be particularly good 'skyline views' by most definitions.

What are you *actually* trying to get a picture of?

I believe the Trump Tower has an outdoor seating area somewhat high up. I want to say it's attached to the restaurant in there.

You want a great view of the skyline, walk out by the Planetarium. You'll get the most famous viewpoint of of our city, and probably of any skyline in the world.
