What we want from our news reporters is for them to report, like, the news while they keep their gratuitous killjoy child-rearing editorializing to themselves.
I agree. A lot of talk goes on in this forum about parenting and parents making the right decisions in terms of what their kids can watch. I don't see the nightly news as being one of the things that most parents would bar their kids from watching.

I don't really get the big deal about believing or not believing in Santa. My daughter is 5 and she "believes" in Santa, but also knows he's not real. When I asked why she thought he wasn't real she said it was because every Christmas special is about Santa not being real.

You'd be surprised how illogical discussions with 4 year olds can be, I have two of them currently and am amazed at our conversations...

4 year old: When are we going to the store?
Me: Tomorrow.
4 year old: Today?
Me: No, tomorrow.
4 year old: Today?
Me: No, tomorrow, not today.
4 year old: When is tomorrow?
Me: After you sleep and wake up.
4 year old: Today?
Me: Forget it...

Yes, but we must treat kids as if they are adults....
