My wife and I are looking at townhomes in Dearborn Park II and I was just curious if anybody on here lived there, and what you thought of the area. Any thoughts - good or bad - about Dearborn Park II?

We have lived in the South Loop near 16th & Prairie for 5 years now, so are familiar with the S Loop but are curious what the Dearborn Park area is like in particular.

Thanks!!!!

We like DP very much. Since you live in the area, you know that it's a bit secluded with limited traffic access, which is nice. I also love the mature trees and the abundant parks (DPII has two parks - Cotton Tail and South Loop School; DPI has two parks as well). There are many families, but also a good mix of retirees and single folks as well. We don't have school-aged children yet, but South Loop Elementary has improved vastly over the past 10 years. If you have children, walking to school in the neighborhood is a huge plus.

I suppose one of the downsides is that some folks see DP as a bit 'suburban' compared to other parts of the SL. I personally don't feel this way, as DP is great example of urban renewal. I never feel isolated or cut off from the surrounding area, though some posters to this board will disagree.
