Awesome pictures, I'm trying to wrap my head around this shot from the World's Fair. Is this taken looking North east at the Field Museum from what would be McFetridge drive today?

The 1893 Worlds Fair ( Columbian Exposition) was held where the Museum of Science and Industry is today ( the one leftover building) and extended into Jackson Park and the Midway Plaisance, so you'd be about 5 -6 Miles north of there at McFetridge.. I think the pic is from that era ..

I have to tell you I am just stunned at the wonderful collection you've put together. I was literally transported viewing these. I'm a history buff and for me this was like mainlining info I had never been aware of. I certainly illustrates the amazing detail that used to be put into architecture and construction compared to these days. Indeed however due to apparent lack of emission controls most of the structures seem so dingy and dirty. Quite a trip back in time. Thanks so much for posting.

It's not my site, I'm just passing on the link.

The pic that stood out the most was the Art Institute. Looks like it's in the middle of nowhere.
