Relocating from Ct to Chicago any suggestions on where I should move in July 2012 I'm single and I have no children. I'd like to be close or in the downtown Chicago area.

You need to either give a lot more information about what you're looking for: budget, what kind of neighborhood vibe you're looking for, where you will be working, OR you need to search the forum. TONS of threads started by 20 somethings moving to Chicago. Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Bucktown, WIcker Park, Logan Square, Ravenswood, Rogers Park and ON and ON.

What size apartment and what is the maximum you plan to pay for rent? In what part of the city will you be working?

Also the new South Loop area that is loaded with condos for rent but much quieter than other parts of the Northside. Easy access to the Downtown area as well as the highway system. What kind of area are you looking for? Other areas that are hot are the River North areas and West Loop. So there is a lot to choose from. Each has their own characeristics. If you are simply looking for easy access to Downtown there is Streeterville which is loaded with young professionals - as are other parts of town.
