Hello, first post here.

Me and my wife are seeing a show at the Metro on the 28th. I want to ride the red line so we don't have to deal w/ parking and traffic etc but I am concerned about riding back at night. We would be taking the red line and getting on at the Addison stop which is 1/2 a mile or so from the venue. The show will be letting out around 10 or 11p, is this a safe ride/walk or should I just drive?

Thanks!

yes, it's safe if you don't wander around like a drunk idiot or a clueless yokel. You don't say where you'll be riding to after the show.

About a million + Drunks go through that stop every year.

Never heard of any major news stories dealing with that stop.

Instead of asking if it's safe to use the Addison stop at night, you maybe should have asked about Harrison. Addison is a well-patrolled street, there are many people walking about and it's considered a safe stop for use at just about any hour.

10 or 11 is really early in Chicago. There will be a lot of people out and about; I'd have about zero concern. You could always take the el up there and cab it back if you wanted as well.

thanks! 2nd time seeing them for us!

We are from dayton, Oh where 11pm is fairly late and going out at 11pm usually doesn't bring about anything good so thats why I asked.

Thanks for the help everyone!
