Hello All,

Do any of you have any suggestions for an inexpensive hotel within the river north or loop areas?

I am in charge of planning a bachelor party for the night of May 4th and need a room, maybe two. Do you know what would be my most inexpensive option, or do you know of any sort of website that can do a price comparison for me?

I would go to www.priceline.com and use the price line negotiator. You pick what star-level hotel you want, what area you want, and the price you are willing to pay, and it will negotiate with hotels. I got a room on a Saturday night at the Four-Points on Rush Street in River north, right off Michigan avenue for $40. The same room off the hotel website was over $150. If the hotels don't accept your bid, there's no charge so it's definately worth a shot.

You can always try the cheapie old-school motels like HoJo or the Ohio House.

I would definitely use Priceline's Name your own price. My advice is to go on Hotwire.com and find something your interested in. Then go on Priceline and place a bid for something the same star level and neighborhood, but just bid a little less than the Hotwire price.

This site can help you figure out what the actual hotels are on Priceline and Hotwire before you book them:
