Any suggestion and input will be of great help and highly appreciated.

Also, with $75K being my package, How much can I expect per month after TAX deduction.

Looking forward for your valuable suggestions.

Eh, that amount of money will get you an ok lifestyle provided you don't have a lot of debt. You'll be able to rent a decent apartment in a good neighborhood if you so choose.

You think 75k for someone who doesn't go out to pubs/bars and restuarants a lot will only give you an OK lifestyle? Come on....

Even after medical insurance, 401k, and taxes, you'll be taking in more than $4000/month on that. It's more than enough. You can easily survive on that and rent a good apartment in a good area without a doubt and still go out and enjoy yourself. Trust me.

Trust you? I'm at a similar level of income and feel like I don't make anything.

What do you spend all of your money on?

If your spouse doesn't work, I totally understand where you're coming from.

I always imagined 75K would probably be the 'magic number' where my wife could quit her job to stay home with any potential kids we ever had. As of now, I'm nowhere near and probably won't be for a long time.

As a lowly peasant cubicle dweller, I can't fathom how 75K isn't enough. As an above poster said - even after taxes, health insurance and 401K (mine is @ 6%) you still have a lot to play with. Unless, that is, you enjoy hookers and blow.

Ah, drawing more assumptions, are we? I don't recall saying that I didn't have any disposable income or that I was broke. Unfortunately, at the moment I'm at the lower end of the income spectrum when measured against my peers. Also, I am not where I want to be in terms of disposable income or savings. I guess things could be a lot worse.
