can anyone suggest newer, carpetted, decent sized studios under $1000 in gold coast/river north/loop area?

i've been looking at a lot of studios around $700-$800 in gold coast/old town and they are very vintage and very small.

I know it's hard to find somethign like this in my budget but I thought i would see if anyone can suggest a good building/management in the area i'm looking for that i may not know about.

You may want to check out realtor.com and select "rentals" from the drop down menu. This has all of the realtor listed condo for rent inventory (and any genuine apts. that happen to be on the MLS).
Perhaps you can find a condo studio for rent.

I can't think of any newer apartment buildings with studios in your price range.

Going to be very very hard...my coworker has one near division for probably $800/month but he says it's ghetto and it's an old building. Everything is going to be over $1000 (like 1100 N La Salle is $1100-$1200).

You may have luck finding someone who's renting their condo or maybe subletting via craigslist or something.

Honestly it's probably not going to happen. Updated/Newish studios cost $1000-$1200 in that area. If you want something slightly better you could try going further north. That being said most of the studios in Lincoln Park seem to be pretty old too. Hell I looked a refurbed convertible in Lakeview for $1200 not long ago.

Good luck. The absolute cheapest I saw was $1050 in Marina Towers. It was small and outdated. A friend of mine rented hers out for $1000 but I never saw it, and I think it was pretty small as well. Ive never seen anything under $1000 a month.

Why do you have to live in those areas?

okay, but they hold so much crap in them for years. They are kind of gross when you really think about what is in your carpet.
