in the summer it might be problematic because the flash mob crowd takes the redline into the city.
where do u live around harrisin,I thought that area was getting expensive.

The OP said he/she was a college student, so they probably live at the University Center on Congress & State.

If you are worried you can easily take the bus from Grand to Harrison at that time of night. The #146, #3 or #29 sound like a good bet, particularly if you use bus tracker.

Sit near the driver and face the door.

TheYo is almost correct, I will be living at 2 East 8th. Which is about a 2 minute walk from the University Center.

As I said before, avoid the entrance on Dearborn near the Bar Louie and just keep walking north and use the entrance off of Harrison. Most of the big issues w/ that stop happen at the Dearborn entrance b/c it's so deserted and the platform is so long that help from the other end won't get there quick enough if you need it.

Just act like you are driving a car...always be aware of what is happening around you. That's it.

9-11 is not late in Chicago...8-9 is dinner time for a lot of people. You will also have some buses you can take too.

Driving is way more dangerous than using the L. Enjoy the great city!!!!
