Yep, 26th street Crew which was ran by the infamous Angelo "The Hook" LaPietra (now deceased). His famous house is located at 30th and Princeton. Not sure who is running the crew currently.

Loved that book. One of the best.

Pietra's house is hilarious; it's a freaking fortress with giant walls around it.

Apparently he was a real psychopath; one of the meanest ever, at least that is his rep.

There are still a fair amount of mobsters in Bridgeport, like Pudgy Matassa and Frank Caruso, among others.

Who knows if their crew is still active.

A lot of "mob watchers" pretend to know things but the fact is you really don't know until the FBI/police make a bust, and no one's been busted for a loooong time.

They just call it the Chinatown Crew, by the way. It's just a name.

There used to be a lot of illegal gambling in Chinatown, Asians love to gamble, but the crew had operations far beyond Chinatown. Frank Calabrese live out in the suburbs, a lot of them did.

Just like the Grand Ave. crew has operations far beyond Grand Ave.

If you want to read some crazy stories about the mob in Chinatown google "Ken Eto." They are actually making a documentary about his life but unfortunately it's in Japanese; I don't know if it will be released in the US. I hope so.

BTW, Mark Whalberg's production company optioned the rights, at least that is what i heard.

There is a good interview with Cooley on the internet with a local TV host if you're ever bored. The guy really lays into him, it's pretty funny.
