I am still debating on what city I want to go to school in. What public and private colleges are in Chicago. Is lakeview a nice area? That seems to be the one attracting me the most. Rent seems to be fair priced in that area at 900-1000. Is there a hip and young population in that area? Are there a lot of businesses around where I could get my start. I'm going to college for Business administration so thats a big one. How much does it cost to live in this area?
Thanks
Aj

4-year (minimum) public colleges in Chicago include: University of Illinois at Chicago, Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago State University, and Illinois Institute of Technology.

4-year (minimum) private colleges of Chicago include: University of Chicago, Roosevelt University, Northwestern University (Downtown campus only -- main campus in Evanston), Columbia College, Robert Morris College, Loyola University, East-West University, St. Xavier University, National-Lewis University, North Park University, St. Augustine College (bachelors in social work only).

4-year (minimum) private colleges near to Chicago include: Northwestern University (main campus), Evanston; Dominican University, River Forest; Concordia University, River Forest (the latter two are literally across the street from each other).

Yes, Lakeview is nice. $900 is the starting price for an apartment in the area. At that rate, expect a rather small place, quite possibly a studio, and with only basic amenities. And yes, the general population is "hip and young."

Lakeview is VERY nice. It is one of the nicest hoods in Chicago. The pop is very diverse in both age, race, sexuality, and religion. It is really the perfect mix of everything and is very clean. I give Lakeview 2 thumbs up.
