I'm new to Chicago and live near the airport. We are looking for a cheap dining room table and chairs, about $100-$200 new. We have looked on craigslist but noone is replying to emails and I just want to buy something. Are there any furniture stores nearby that would have some cheap furniture? We will be in Evanston tomorrow too if there are any stores there. We also might need bar stools. I have looked at Walmart, Kmart, and Ikea website.

There's all those low-end furniture stores on Milwaukee just NW of Division that can have some really good deals (basically sell things like Ashley furniture and similar quality).

Salvation Army. You'll have to look around, but I've seen some lovely dining sets for under $200. There's a location off of Western near Cermak that sometimes have good finds.

$200 isn't going to happen, not even at Target, but I got my dining table from Furniture Village for low 300s. I think they're in the south burbs somewhere, but they'll deliver and for free. Check them out:
