Even if you endure the "conversation", you can only take one of them home at the end of the night (unless you're Hugh Hefner) so what good is the whole club full of them? If you just want to stare at a variety of them, there are websites for that.

Omg, this why I hate socializing in Chicago. That low key bar what you describe would put me to asleep. I rather sit at home and read book than do that. Btw, I do not codone women or people standing around just to look good. Now granted when I go I out I want to look good, but I have dance and get my party on and atmosphere has to be the same also.

The place has to be full of energy not just people standing around.

Finally somebody who is telling the truth! It is like a crime here to care about looking good and you are assumed that you are a goldigger. Maybe this is why I prefer the downtown scene better than the neighborhoods. The people care how they look and generally our a lot nicer.

So if you're really not shallow, I'd think you'd prefer a woman with some substance?

Why does substance equal less attractive?

Uh, I don't think you fully understand the scene. First of all, the downtown scene is not older necessarily. There are many places downtown that are chalked full of college kids and people around that age. Vertigo Sky Lounge is a mix. Everytime I walk by there when there's a line, it's a good number of not so old people. Division Street is full of college kids, and Cedar Hotel and Proof in the Viagra Triangle is about half and half.

Usually the places that are older downtown are the more expensive places or chill places.

Also, neighborhood stuff? Depends on the neighborhood or part of the neighborhood! Go to certain bars in Lakeview East. Older. Go to Lincoln Square or Ravenswood, or anywhere up there. OLDER.

Nothing wrong with that, though I'm going to guess you might be younger than me. (I don't know many 30-somethings and older who are into dance clubs, unless they're swing dancers or something.) I'm more into good live music and good conversation (both of which are quite different things from reading a book, and neither of which put most people to sleep), but Chicago has plenty of places to dance. The rave/EDM scene is legendary and is still going strong, from what my friends in their early-to-mid-20's tell me. I'd personally rather poke my ear drums out with a stick.

If you are woman. If you are a guy, people might wonder if you are gay. (They would be perfectly and totally supportive of that, but if you insist that you are not, they still might not be convinced).

Calling well dressed guys gay is something jealous guys have done for ages.

Excuse me while I'm busy picking up attractive women.

I'm pretty sure I don't know how to "get my party on".
