Anyone know if there is free street parking near the UC? I'm going to a Bulls game and don't mind walking a couple blocks if I can park for free. If not, what's my best bet for parking in a lot that A) isn't going to charge me a ton of money but yet B) isn't sketchy?

I would not advise you to park on the street around there and walk. Just pay the money and sleep better. You don't want to see your car on the "Homeboyz Shopping Network".

A lot of people park in front of the where I live which is on the corner of N Wood and Maypole. There is a lot of police presence on game nights specially on that intersection. When I go to games I have walked from there to my place no problems.

Default How many hours before the game does the street fill up? No restrictions?

My experience is that an awful lot of close in on-street parking is "permit zoned" at the request of the pay-to-park operations and/or fills up two or more hours before game time, even if you are grabbing dinner and some pre-game refreshments that is an awfully long time to blow just to save a few bucks for a convenient parking lot...
