Lots of people here seem to be friends with the OP. Odd. Odd that they know what he/she's saying when he/she can't communicate that effectively. There are relatively simple ways of resolving this ... if the OP, and the landlord, are interested.

When you set up an automatic online bill pay from Chase (or any bank), they EITHER send the funds electronically to the person you are paying - or Chase sends them a paper check. (it depends based on various things). It is possible that the landlord did receive the paper check from Chase and she lost it.

In any case, the OP can use his bank statement as a receipt that the check has been sent. If the bill was sent EFT, it goes directly to the landlord's bank account and there is no paper to lose.

If I were having this many problems, I would hand the landlord a check or money order and have that person give me a receipt. That way, you are doing this IN PERSON and that takes away the landlord's excuses for not doing paperwork properly. I'd do that in order not to have to write a 2nd check and then have both those checks floating around, and me not being able to use that money.

Once you pay your rent, and get that receipt, then it is not the tenant's responsibility to replace the check, espeically if it keeps getting lost. the tenant has already done his obligation, and is not responsible for another check, and the resulting late fees and fines and costs, etc. involved in writing another check (the tenant might be having to put a stop payment on the lost checks which could be like $25 per check or more.

Automatic bill pay is electronic and not accomplished with a paper check ... or atleast that's how my automatic bill pay works.
It's only electronic if the recipient has an EFT account/arrangement with the bank. If not, the bank cuts a physical check and mails it.
