Hey guys. It's my first post here. So I'm currently in NYC and will be moving to Chicago after receiving a great job offer with a hedge fund there. I'm amazed at how much cheaper the rent is in Chicago. So I'm looking to live in a 1-bedroom in a really nice highrise building with all the amenities (doorman, gym, pool deck), in a fun area with lots of restaurants and bars, and as a plus, it would be great if the building has lots of attractive women. So far, people have recommended 1 west superior in river north and eugenie terrace in lincoln park. Any other buildings you guys think I should check out?

It's impossible to recommend a place without knowing your budget range, and asking which buildings have lots of attractive women is kind of ridiculous. You'll have to talk to people who have spent a lot of recent time at the places, but most in River North probably will have it in some way. In the very least, in a place like River North, there will always be attractive women around at night especially on weekends or during the summer.

EnV is is frankly overpriced in my opinion, but it has everything you ask. The gym and pool are very nice. The units are very nice and there are some very attractive girls that live there, and even more that visit. It really just depends on your budget and what they have available.

Sorry for forgetting my range. So i'm looking at something in the $2300-$2500 range, which could get me a pretty decent place in chicago, unlike manhattan.

You could live in probably most buildings in River North or Streeterville. I would suggest River North though, not Streeterville. More going on there.

1 West Superior is decent..not brand new or anything but decent. I live close by there..There's no bars directly underneath it, but they're close by. There's a Whole Foods on the ground level of the building too which of course is hot woman central. The good news is that this place is right by the Chicago red line train stop. If you go a little south, there's actually a rooftop lounge called Vertigo (Vertigo Sky Lounge - chigagorooftopbars.com). If you go West of 1 W Superior to Clark Street, there's some more bars and stuff. There is Zed 451 which has a nice rooftop bar/lounge(Zed451 - chigagorooftopbars.com). Right around there is Fedora Lounge, Clark Street Ale House, Underground Wonder Bar (which plays live jazz/blues/whatever 365 days/year). South of there you start hitting some clubs like Vision/Excalibur which attracts some big names.

Really though I'd say the heart of the nightlife for River North is centered around Hubbard Street with places like Hubbard Inn, Paris Club, NV Penthouse Lounge, Mercer 113, Social 25, Rockit, etc just to name a few. You will find a lot of good looking women at these places easily. Very easily. Also some good restaurants around (there are some cheap eats but most of them are not *cheap* but very good stuff in the area). There's also places a block south on Kinzie like Untitled, Gilt Bar, etc. Lot of other bars in the area and then a little NW of that you have some more clubs (dont' get me started) like Spy Bar, Sound Bar, Crescendo, etc.

So, my suggestion is that if you want to be right above all the action in River North, get a place around Hubbard Street between State and LaSalle or on Illinois, Kinzie, etc. This place might interest you. It is not open yet, but they're pretty close to topping the building off I think. Depending on when you'll be moving, it might be open (this summer most likely):

AMLI River North - Chicago Apartments - Luxury Chicago Apartments

If you want to be near the action but a few blocks away at the same time with some lower key stuff directly around you, then the 1 W Superior is a good location. Here's some other decently located ones:

Flair Tower | Chicago, IL Apartments for Rent | Rent.com®
west77 | Chicago, IL Apartments for Rent | Rent.com®

I think a lot depends though on how close you want to be to everything. If you don't mind a 5-10, or even up to 15 minute walk then your options really open up.

Lincoln Park and Lakeview are perfectly safe minus a few incidents here and there. OP don't listen to that ****.

Eugenie Terrace would be well below your price range I think.

You're working for a freakin' hedge fund, you can probably live anywhere you want.

Second River North.

Don't know that many buildings specifically but EnV is really new... and seems to be attractive to the kind of people who go to nightclubs, are concerned with making the scene etc.

Yeah, personally, I would choose Aqua every day and twice on Sunday, except the location is admittedly far more removed. Ain't a hell of a lot going on in "Lake Shore East."

Aqua is a really great building, but there isn't that much around it to be honest. It's not far from the "action" but still not just a 5 minute walk. More like 15 maybe or even 20. Great building though
