from just surfing yelp casually, i may not be able to tell, but is yelp big to any degree in chicago? if so, how does it function moreso

in philly it bring sooo many people together for regular functions and team sports...drinking, parties yadda yadda, and leads heavy for reviews. in cali its just unreal huge in terms of organizing people for stuff far more than reviews; its like a sub-community

Yelp is pretty huge in Chicago as Chicago has one of the biggest food scenes in the country. People are obsessed with food and/or drinks here a lot of the time. My girlfriend's friends from Manhattan this weekend commented on their surprise on how much Yelp is used here versus NYC. Yelp Elite has events once a month (sometimes twice) here that draws a ton of people to the events (not everyone gets in of course).

Yeah man. Yelp is huge in Chicago. The only more popular Yelps I've seen are NYC's & San Francisco's really. Maybe, just maybe the LA area might be bigger than us as well, but I'm not sure about it hahah.

I'm glad to see Yelp being used to its potential in Chicago, which is where I hope to move after college.

In Florida, there's very little usage of it. Thats just the way Florida is on the whole, no one is really proud of their city and there's no culture anyone wants to share by using things like Yelp. One of the reasons I wanna experience a real city and leave this place.
