You'd be surprised. Certainly many of us are biased because we were either born here or chose to move here, but this forum is also frequented by quite a few people (or possibly a few people with quite a few usernames) who don't live here and appear to devote much of their lives to spreading negative (and often false) information about the city. The fact that none of them tried to convince you that the nightlife is better in SLC than Chicago is pretty telling, I think. Even trolls have limits to how far they will attempt to stretch the truth, apparently.

Is the nightlife in Chicago better than Salt Lake City? Is a prime steak better than a McDonalds hamburger? The nightlife on Mars is better than the nightlife in Salt Lake City. You know what the biggest selling "sin" drink is in Salt Lake City? Coffee.

i don't know, you can find some decent 1 bedrooms on the north side for $800-900.

they're not going to be right in the middle of the nightlife, but a short train ride away isn't usually a huge deal.

I've lived in Chicago my whole life and I suggest Lincoln Park. OMG best neighborhood ever. Super Close to downtown but so cool cuz you have the zoo, the lake, the hip young open minded people, bars, shops, but yeah it's kinda pricey. I also love Wrigleyville.. fun hood! It is a mainly a LGBT neighborhood & punk/goth people with mohawks. Great bars and food there. If you want cheaper prices you have to live outskirts like Evanston (college town- Northwestern), Park Ridge or Oak Park is cute, I suggest anything on the North side. Do not move to the South side of Chicago.

Not sure if serious...

Wrigleyville mainly a LGBT community with punk/goths? Maybe Boystown itself...

Ahahaa, point taken. I know the nightlife is sad here. I just was wondering how good it was in Chicago. I was blown away by Louisville when visiting that city.

If I get the offer, I'm moving. No questions asked. Thank you everyone!

Yeah, I don't think Wrigleyville has that much of a presence of LBGT. Boystown for sure.

Well my aunt lives there. She lives next to The Alley. Trust me it's all goth people and LGBT. You will def see people with pink mohawks walking around.. and gay bars - cool mix of people. I walk around there with my aunt all the time. I always thought that was Wrigleyville. Idk is it not? It's not that far from it. Anyway I love that area. The Alley is my favorite shop.

Now there's two phrases I never thought I'd see used together, especially from someone who has lived here their whole life. Lincoln Park is young-ish, but pretty much the antithesis of hip, and very homogenous.

Even more humorously, you appear to be confusing Wrigleyville with Boys' Town....

Like Jandur, I can't tell if you're joking or not. If I just saw those two things, I'd assume you were being sarcastic, but some of the other things you wrote are accurate, so I'm not sure what to make of you.
