I've been to Kyiv and Moscow, both in 1984 when it was still the USSR.

Wow, that's quite a list. Warsaw, Toronto, and Galway are the only ones I've visited. I'll probably visit Shanghai someday, as I think it's probably going to become the center of the universe within my lifetime.

I've been to Shanghai, Moscow and Sao Paulo.

Sao Paulo is my favorite of the three, despite its crime. Moscow is the worst. Shanghai felt like a soul-less business city to me. Like a Frankfurt on speed that developed overnight.

I don't know why but Russia does not interest me at all! It's cities, culture, country, people, etc. I really just have zero interest in Russia. I don't know what it is. I just fine the culture to be so cold, and I don't mean temperature wise.

Been to Toronto, Hamburg, Athens.
A trip to the Alps with side trips to Milan and Lucerne would be nice.
Gotheburg also to see Scandanavia.
Many interesting and diverse places on the list.

I mean not hating on it either. My job is global, so I work with Russians from time to time and they are super nice. It's just I dunno, there is something about Russia that just doesn't get to me.

I lived in Moscow for 7 years, spent a few months in Kiev, and visited Warsaw, Toronto, Vilnius, Birmingham (if they mean the one in England, not Alabama), and Gothenburg. And I was born in Delhi!

I think some of these sister city choices could be improved to be more like Chicago. Substitutions I would make:

Glasgow instead of Birmingham: an architecturally interesting city with distinctive local character and pride, and strong arts scene

St. Petersburg instead of Moscow: young city with lousy weather and awesome architecture (also a "second city")

Mumbai (Bombay) instead of Delhi: bustling business center, better choice than national capital Delhi
