I haven't seen that many on the path. But the city did recently install a Divvy station right on Fullerton and the lakefront, so I'm sure there will be an uptick.

I have not seen them on the path either, but they are all over downtown.

I have seen a handful everytime I am on the lake front path "downtown." Not TONS of them, but yeah. I see a lot on the normal streets though..

Anyone catch this story on WGN this morning? Condo boards are usually pretty ridiculous but I think they might have a case here, definitely makes the building less appealing. Unfortunately the article is lazy and doesn't have a picture of the specific bike station in question.
My ex girlfriend lived pretty much next door to this. I don't see what the big deal is. The place, while not teeming with people, is not some corner of suburbia where nobody goes. There is some foot traffic there all the time. I think these condo owners need to shut the **** up or move to the burbs. I don't see how this is any less attractive. It's one of the densest areas of the city and they're complaining about a bike share program? Who the hell lives in our city?

That station is also in the street, which is public property.

The system is designed for the bikes to be used as point-A-to-point-B transportation more than joy-riding. You have to pay extra fees if you keep a bike longer than 30 minutes. So while you see some along the lake, you're just as likely to see them on city streets, it seems.

I saw a young woman huffing and puffing to try and make a green light. I guess you need very solid construction for these things to last, but they look horrible. I think its a neat idea, and the stations are all over the place. A few less cab rides here and there you could save $ in no time. I'd probably ride my bike to work every once in a while if I wasn't afraid of it getting stolen, so problem solved (no I just have to solve the lazy part)

Yeah they're not easy. They are built like German tanks!

Don't worry about your bike getting stolen unless you have a super expensive road bike. Otherwise just slap a Kryptonite on it and you'll be fine.

A couple of days after they were installed, a cab driver told me (as we were passing one of their stations on my street) that he was concerned they were going to cost him business. I hadn't thought of that until he said it.
