Larry Siegal - if you still have to go to strip clubs when you're married that must mean you aren't getting satisfaction from your wife.
Not all strip clubs are women only. There are some male ones and even some gay ones.

Just like a married man who orders a hooker.

1. They're gay. They want to spice things up with their husband or the fellow they're with. Their husband/boyfriend wants them to.

2. Thanks for your concern, Reverend. If you would like to go into marriage counseling, get a LCSW designation, put your ad on psychologytoday.com, and I'll see if I want to become a customer. Meanwhile, I'll do as I see fit, and as long as I don't harm anyone else, I'm not sure why you'd care.

The thing is - You are potentially harming your wife emotionally. That's the concern.

It's also just funny. Your passionate defense of strip clubs and how they're oh-so-different than prostitution because "a strip club isn't cheating on my wife". You didn't really think people WOULDN'T react to this, did you?

So if Larry has a shaggy Golden Retriver or Sheepdog at home and he admires a well groomed French Poodle at the pet parade does he risk "emotionally harming" the menagerie ?

Seems like a stretch at best. People pay to hear a live band when they can listen to recorded music free on Pandora, the experience is fresher / different. Live performance is a well know part of the entertainment business. Probably more damaging to spend too much time on x-rated web sites. Save the pop psychology.

It's not really "pop psychology". I'm being Captain Obvious here. Women get jealous when their men are ogling other women.. It's hurtful because they feel like they aren't good enough.

Dogs don't care but women do. Women are different than dogs, ya know.

And anyway, as I also said.. A lap dance is getting sexual pleasure from TOUCHING another woman. It could constitute as cheating, depending on the wife.

Your concern is touching. Why don't you ask her if she feels she is being harmed. You will find it easier to get her attention if she's not with one or more of her lady friends watching a male stripper. She doesn't do it often but she has done it.

I am 58 years old, married for 32 of them, and I think I know what cheating on my wife is. It's having sex with another woman (or man), not watching one spin around a pole in her underwear.

Chet - ha, thanks.

Uhh...because they enjoy seeing women stripping? Just a wild hunch.

Gotta agree with you on this one. Unless you're at a strip club where they literally "get it in" in the champagne room or lap dance room for an fee, other than the actual lap dances (which vary tremendously), what's so different between the strip club and say Hooters, Tilted Kilt, or some bar with very scantily clad women hanging out?

Last I checked the waitresses at Hooters and Tilted Kilt don't get naked, let alone grind on your lap with their breasts in your face for $20. That would be the biggest difference.
