New Illinois 'RICO' law leads to street gang arrests - Springfield, IL - The State Journal-Register

Will this new law make a difference in the fight against gangs? The Feds have used RICO to good effect against the Mafia. I'm surprised that Illinois didn't have something similar until now.

Read Royko's "Boss," this is as old as the country, Gangs of New York (which was based on a nonfiction book) offers a pretty good snapshot of how it was done WAY back in the day.
