Lincoln Square is a nice area and getting better. The gangs are being pushed West. My ancestors came from Southern Germany in 1867 this area will always be historic for me.

You are unfamiliar with that 'hood and yet are moving into it? If it's such a concern of yours, why didn't you do your research ahead of time?

And you know how old the gang symbol is because...? What if it's 10+ years old? I don't know that SPECIFIC area, but I know it's right on the border of Lincoln Square and Albany Park. Anyway, I wouldn't be concerned. There are gang symbols painted on some buildings in Lakeview and Lincoln Park. Doesn't mean they're new or that you should be afraid to go there.

Only be concerned if something happens and IMO you may be reading too much into it, especially if the symbol is old.

yeah the thing was pretty faded and ragged kings sign. im not sure if it was because they just tried to spray it off or because the building was rehabbed 3 years ago. i've been looking into gross park, seems like its actually a pretty nice place. movies and festivals happen a lot. and today it was full of clearly not gangbanging children. anyone else framiliar with the area?
